Ref. 96
I am delighted to offer my Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 96 in stainless steel, now fitted with a beautifully brushed silver dial. The Ref. 96 is the archetype of the Calatrava line—originally introduced in the early 1930s—and this clean, understated steel version with its rare brushed‑silver finish makes it a true icon of watchmaking history.
The dial remains in very good, all‑original condition. The old Patek signature at 12 o’clock is crisp and completely untouched. The brushed‑silver surface shows a touch of age around the 6 o’clock marker, and you’ll find just a few very small marks—patina that only enhances its vintage character without compromising legibility.
The 32 mm stainless steel case presents extremely well, with sharp, well‑defined edges that suggest only the lightest past polishing. The case bears serial number 0.6x mio, indicating a production year circa the mid‑1940s. Instead of the original bracelet, this Calatrava is paired with a third‑party black leather strap and matching aftermarket buckle. The strap is in good, wearable condition with visible signs of prior use and will fit wrists up to approximately 7.5 inches (19 cm).
This watch is offered with the extract from the Patek Philippe archives and an original rice of beads bracelet from Gay Freres from the 1940s.
